I know the planning, working, and sacrifice that you’re doing at Christmas time. Sometimes, it can be overwhelming.
You may be a mom who is struggling to make ends meet and make your family happy. For some, it is a thankless job because it’s not noticed.
I notice.
More importantly, God notices.
Mothers smile when they are crying inside. They set the tone in the home and put the special touches on everything they do. And if you’ve lost a child, or your home, or a husband, life has stopped for you.
I know it hurts. Why you?
I don’t know. All I know is that God does comfort and carry us through tragedies.
Let him.
You will survive.

So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.

Where am I going?
I am baffled.
I was headed there. I was certain of it.
But when it happened, everything changed.
And now I am here.
It’s cold. Everything looks dismal. This is not where I want to be.
Then I looked up. I saw the light. It is the one thing that is constant. It’s always there. Even when I cannot see it.
And it will guide me.

Sometimes, giving out of your pain seems unattainable. That’s because you are looking to do great things.
Did you know that Jesus said the least in the kingdom is the greatest? In other words, we often look for the biggest and brightest and best of everything – when God almost always picks the smallest, and dimmest, and the least of everything.
Jesus was born in a barn. Not a castle.
Your giving can be useless and small in your eyes, but it’s a sacrifice God takes note of.
And you know something? It seems to be the secret to soothing your hurting heart.
I tell you the truth, anyone who gives you a cup of water in my name because you belong to Christ will certainly not
lose his reward.
-The Bible
Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
Psalm 23:4

With my soul at peace and my thoughts at rest, standing in this winter wilderness,
I whisper words of heartfelt bliss. Come with me and walk this path.
Together we tread against the freeze, and find the warmth of tender grasp …
… The deepest snows cannot hide the facts. Beneath these layers life holds fast.
Newfound joys spring from bleakest past. Let’s rebuild life from broken dreams,
Where life restarts with each new spring, the snows will melt to feed fresh streams.
