A wife who loses a husband is called a widow. A husband who loses a wife is called a widower. A child who loses his parents is called an orphan. There is no word for a parent who loses a child. That’s how awful the loss is.

I wish I could explain.

But if there isn’t a word, then how can I?

There are many difficult experiences in life. We all live with shadows.

But the death of a child… everyone shutters at that one.

Life goes on, but there is a continual shadow on the heart.
