The first few days of the New Year are perplexing for me.
The magical month of December is gone and in an instant, January is here – the time we think about resolutions and goals.
One month is a good out-of-the-routine-busyness. We linger longer with another cup of tea, set aside paperwork for another holiday movie, bask in the warmth of the twinkling lights, and enjoy lots of wonderful food.
Then in days, we’re at the starting line again.
I resent it!
Not really. But it does take about a week to re-group.
Fresh starts are good. But there is something to be said about taking it a day at a time, too.
Only you know what you need. Take time to reflect.
If you need some inspiration, here are some great quotes:
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do, so throw off the bowlines, sail away from safe harbor, catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore, Dream, Discover.” – Mark Twain
“You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.” ~ Wayne Gretzky
“Even if you’re on the right track, you’ll get run over if you just sit there.” ~ Will Rogers
“You can never cross the ocean until you have the courage to lose sight of the shore.”
~ Christopher Columbus
“I am not a product of my circumstances. I am a product of my decisions.” ~ Stephen Covey
What are those things that should change in your life? Sometimes, we feel trapped and we are doing it to ourselves.
