wait.

wait.

Underneath this icy patch are bright yellow tulips.

To the left and right of the stone path, hidden beneath, lies daisies, aster, hydrangea, bee balm, and upright phlox.

All waiting.

Patiently waiting.

Sometimes, things in life look messy. There’s nothing about this muddy, slippery, barren scene that tells the onlooker what is waiting below. In 3 months there will be splashes of beauty calling to everyone – stop and look! And touch! And smell!

You don’t know what awaits you. Don’t give up.

Only believe.

And wait.

emotions.

emotions.

Emotions are part of who we are.

But they aren’t the whole story.

How we feel doesn’t necessarily line up with what is true.

You may feel really blue about something. It seems as though it won’t get better.

I can tell you that it will. God does not allow pain without relief – without hope.

Whenever you are blue, remember cloudy days aren’t cloudy forever. Behind those clouds the sun is shining.

love.

love.

A four year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman had recently lost his wife.

Upon seeing the man cry , the little boy went into the old gentleman’s yard , climbed onto his lap , and just sat there.

When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbor , the little boy said ,

‘Nothing , I just helped him cry’

shame.

shame.

As the Scripture says, anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame.

-The Bible

Shame comes from guilt.

It is a feeling of embarrassment after doing something foolish or wrong.

You want to rewind the tape.

But there is no rewinding.

But there is a way to rescue one who feels shame.

It’s called redemption.

God has a way to to fix a fault or a mistake.

He takes away the shame.

guilt.

guilt.

It might have been your fault and you feel guilty.

Or it might not have been and someone makes you feel guilty.

i-love-you-mom-2_l

Don’t you know a benevolent God exists – who takes every detail upon himself?

He opens up his hands and takes guilt away. Because he is so much greater he is able to do this. Because he loves he is able to do this.

Let him.

guidance.

guidance.

Some people think the Bible is full of rules that make their life miserable.

Actually, the Bible instructs the way a good and loving parent would instruct their child, with the intention to guide and direct so the child would be safe.

All that is gold does not glitter, not all those who wander are lost.

Rejection is painful.

Quiet down.

Speak up.

Too tall.

Too short.

You’re just not quite right.

Says who?

God likes variety. Look at the flowers. Trees. Insects. Fish!

Are there more than what we need? Apparently not in God’s mind.

Be who God made you to be. Love yourself. It might clear up alot of your problems!

blessings.

blessings.

sand

Write your hurts in the sand.

God sends the wind to erase the sting of pain and he collects your tears.

badlands-1

Carve your blessings in stone.

Let the goodness and gratitude stand tall in your memory.

Why?

Because if you allow it, the injuries will always be in your thoughts.

Sand is fleeting. Let it go.

Stone is permanent. It will anchor you.

I am … the beginning and the ending, said the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
