When I consider your heavens,

the work of your fingers,

the moon and the stars,

which you have set in place,

what is man that you are mindful of him,

the son of man that you care for him?

You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings

and crowned him with glory and honor.

Did you know, God has names for every star in the universe?

He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name.

Psalm 147:4

This is incredible!

If God cares that much to name the stars, how much more does he care for you?

When bad things happen to us, we immediately dismiss God’s care.

Yet, the world is broken. That means things break down.

But God is still God and he loves us so much he works things out – in his time.

I want you to understand how much bigger things are than you.  Check this out full screen.

Every once and awhile we have to get a grip on reality. It’s so easy to forget how very small we are in comparison to the universe. Our disappointments, losses, and pain can overshadow our life if we allow it. One glimpse of the vastness of life beyond us, takes our breath away. We are energized.

When I consider your heavens,

the work of your fingers,

the moon and the stars,

which you have set in place,

what is man that you are mindful of him,

the son of man that you care for him?

You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings

and crowned him with glory and honor.

I know it feels like there isn’t a God but that doesn’t mean there isn’t. Pain makes some of us withdraw; especially from the one who we think could have done something about it.

But life hits us all hard in many ways. None of us are immune from pain. Some surely face more than others. But God promises to comfort and help us. This is a wonderful promise!
