flowers on the roadside.

No one plants flowers on the roadside.

Some grow in soggy marshes. Some in dry gravel.

They get stepped on, driven over, and exposed to toxic fumes.

Yet, they survive.

It is a portrayal of life.

There is ugliness in this world. And still, God paints on earth’s canvas.

He knows we will respond to the pain but his creation is a reminder of his presence.

It kind of puts things into perspective, doesn’t it?

predictability.

The grass does fade.

The flowers do fall.

But they come back in the spring!

Once again, God speaks to us through his creation, doesn’t he? Every morning we get a fresh start to bloom again.

And the constant, predictability of the grass turning green and flourishing again tells us God can be trusted.

Has life become faded and flowerless?

Wait.

Even death brings the promise of eternal life.

snowflakes.

Humanity has accomplished some amazing feats.

We can think we’re pretty amazing. And really, we are.

But keep perspective. Because we are also very fragile.

Yes, we are a small fish in a big universe pond. We don’t always think about our world being suspended on nothing in a big black space. We can get pretty uppity about some things, can’t we?

I’m glad God didn’t create us to always be thinking about how small we are in relationship to the universe or I am quite sure we would be very anxious and fearful.

But it’s always good to be reminded from time to time.

Sometimes, we stop and get breathless at creation. It’s supposed to work that way. It’s really God’s way of tapping us on the shoulder.

When life’s not going so good, an unexpected treasure can put things into perspective.

A local photographer took the picture below. Amazing. Absolutely amazing.

Study it. See it’s fine detail? Design?

If God is that involved in just snowflake, you better believe his involved with you, no matter how distant you might feel from him.

Even a fragile snowflake has been carefully designed. God could have not given it that much attention.

But he did. Why?

Because when we look at creation, we see God.

All around us are wonderful expressions of God’s presence. We cannot possibly understand all of the “whys” of life.

We are too small.

Will you trust? You don’t have to. But it is so much better when you do.

one.

Never estimate the power of one.

A random seed, fallen out of the bird feeder this past winter, found its place in the snow.

And sank down deeply into the earth below the melting snow.

And it waited.

So small.

Seemingly, insignificant.

Ever feel like that?

You are small and insignificant?

God is speaking to us through his creation.

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

-The Bible

If God designed a small seed to produce such a strong, beautiful flower, how much more does he have good things for you?
